Dorre Info . . .
So what should you know about
me, other than I what I've already listed below. You can see I'm
quite crazy about Paul and my animals. Our life pretty much
revolves around the pups (yes, even the bunnies are sometimes lumped
into the pups category). I just wish we could spend more time
together, it seems like were always so busy, we even work some on the
weekends and that really cuts into family time. I am also very
lucky to have a mom and sister that are willing to travel to visit us
(it is a little hard to travel with the 3 sometimes, although Rocky is
getting better). So we get to have them visit with their dogs
quite a bit. Yep, I said dogS plural, check my
blog for pictures of the new addition,
Molly, she's a cutie.
Oh, and for
fun, don't forget to see
KENYA!!
Colorado Road Trip . . .
We had an amazing time
driving up to Colorado. The scenery (with the exception of the
West Texas nothingness) was glorious. Plus it was just what Paul
and I needed. I think Wicket & Cranberry enjoyed themselves as
well (Momo and Rocky stayed with Mom, Momo had a blast with Dom & Molly) Check out the pictures
here.
NC Christmas Trip . . .
We had the best trip to
NC. We got to stay with all the dogs and Glen & Margie's new house
(it is a great house). We had so much fun with Megan and Sadie,
and we really got to relax. While we were there we saw family, ate
spicy chicken biscuits, went to Boone, saw snow, ate at the Dani'l Boone
Inn, and just had a good time sight seeing! Check out the pictures
here.
My wonderful husband . . . .

Yes, Paul, he's the greatest :)!!
He's a Ph.D. student in Computer Science with an emphasis in digital libraries
and computer human interaction at
Texas A&M University. You can visit Paul's little home on the web
here.
This is a picture from our first kayak trip at Lake Bryan, it was awesome!.
We have been married for two years in September,
I'm so proud of us! You can still check
out the
wedding
pictures here.
My Animals . . .
So, it all started on my 7th birthday and I got a dog . . . now I can't imagine my life without animals. And because I couldn't live without dogs around me, we adopted/dog
napped 2 puppies from the
Sheep Center at TAMU. The manager out there was threatening to have them destroyed because they were mutts and would be
aggressive and mean (as you can see from the pictures they are not!). We
named the boy
Wicket (he looked like and ewok when he was
born) and the girl
Cranberry (she was a big round baby). We
brought them home on Christmas day of 2003 and have loved having them with us.
They've definitely changed our lives, and all for the better. I have
another
bundle of fur, often referred to as a bunny, named Hamilton. When my old
bunny William passed away Pooh got so slow and depressed we were certain if we
didn't get him a companion he would just waste away. So Paul picked out a
little gray ball of fire he named Eeyore (and starting the 100 acre wood
tradition). Unfortunately when Eeyore went in for her spay she had an
adverse reaction to the anesthesia and died while in surgery. The next
week we went to the pet store Paul and I were devastated but the pull to the
baby bunnies could not be fought and I ended up holding this adorable calico
baby boy bunny. Well that was just the breaks, I couldn't put him down so
I headed to the counter with my bunny. Turns out they were getting old and
were on "sale" so that convinced me he needed our home even more. As we
were waiting to pay his name became Hamilton, I don't know why, that's just what
his name is. Paul decided he needed a middle name and Hamilton became
Hamilton J. We don't know what the J stands for, but he's Hamilton J.
Since Pooh Bear died Hamilton has been spending lots of time with the dogs
inside, but we are still hoping to adopt another rabbit to live with him.
All his life has been spent with another bunny and we don't want him to get
lonely. Right now we've got our adoption application in on
HRRN in Austin, but we haven't heard anything
yet. Well, the adoption route didn't work out, they only adopt females to
live with males (they feel males are more prone to fighting) and the only ones I
really liked were males. As fate would have it Oreo (the rabbit we had
rescued and given to my mom) was not getting along with her new dog Domino.
So it was perfect timing for us to take her as our dogs were all quite adapted
to living with bunnies. Mom had already gotten her a cage identical to
Hamil's so it was even better, they just sit side by side in the puppy room and
get to go play in the bunny run outside together. We built a cool three
story house for them to climb up and down through called The Warren that stays
out in the bunny run, so they are pretty spoiled. They have 10' x 8' of
rabbit freedom and hate to come back inside. There is also a small menagerie of fish in my beautiful 55gal tank,
they are just so great to watch. They definitely give one a peaceful
feeling.
Rocky ("my dog" from home) moved in with
a year ago in March and is 11 yrs old. Its great having him here (ok, ok, also a little
stressful, we weren't quite ready for 3 dogs) and I'm determined to spoil him rotten, that's if he ever slows
down enough for us to try. Haha, so not being ready for 3 dogs 2 years ago
we went and added yet another. This was the dog Paul has wanted forever, a
speedball named
Gizmo (I call him Momo). And as much as
he is Paul's dog he's quite the mama's boy. He likes getting a hug every
evening and following me whenever I go to our room or the bathroom (he's in love
with toilet paper rolls). He has been quite the interesting addition to
our house and we all have a lot to learn still.
