E Lee’s 7 month pictures!

We had our session cancelled yesterday because of their camera breaking so we had to reschedule to today. We were running late, but they were too. We got there 30 minutes late and yet they were just shooting the appointment right before ours when we got there. So technically we got there right on time :)! There was a ton of families there for Christmas pictures; luckily we were just getting in there for a couple of shots of E Lee. We did notice they are having their Christmas pictures on the 18th, so we’ll bring E Lee back then for our Christmas card pictures. Then we decided to walk around the mall for a bit and we went into Steve & Barry’s. They’re going out of business and everything was $3.98 or less so we got Paul 3 sweaters, one is pretty enough for him to wear in our Christmas picture, then a zipped sweater for me and a long sleeved t-shirt. We also got 2 outfits for E Lee and 2 A&M jackets for gifts, and yes, we got out of the store spending $38!! E Lee had about had it by then so we finished our circle around and headed home. I think we were all ready to go home anyway. Paul also put up my Moravian star porch light; I’m so excited to finally have it up!! Enjoy the pictures, yes E Lee is packed and ready to be mailed to her Grandma and Auntie Geli.

Our first movie in forever!

We went to see Role Models today. It was pretty funny; we had to keep walking E Lee up and down the side aisles so she wouldn’t get too noisy :)! Don’t worry, we went to the matinee so we wouldn’t disturb too many people, and it was so nice to sit in a theatre again! E Lee wants to know when we can get a TV like that, she loved watching the screen.

E Lee’s school picture

Well we were suckers and went ahead and bought a sheet (and trust me, it was a rip off), but I really wanted it for her baby book. We’ll have her 7 month pictures done this weekend. I haven’t decided what I want her to wear; we’ve got two cute sleeveless dresses, so we might just take those. I think I’ll hold off on the Christmas picture until the end of the month when Paul and I can find something to wear. I also finally got around to scanning the rest of the pictures from Sears in as well.

E Lee fits into her Pooh outfit!

This cute little outfit came from Diana in Pittsburgh, the little bottom has a ruffle all around like a little skirt, and she looks so cute in it! She has also discovered she can scoot . . . backwards. It’s pretty funny, but she can move around quite a bit going the opposite way she wants to :)! I took pictures of her progress, enjoy!

$1.99?!?!?!?!

November 2nd, 2008

By Dorre |

Yep, that’s right; on our way back through Rockdale we saw gas for $1.99 a gallon! Amazing! Now I just would like it to stay that way. It is so good to be home, even E Lee is glad. She went straight to play under her gym and played quite happily for an hour or so. Finally she was worn out enough and we put her down to bed. It was a good weekend though; we had a really nice lunch with Granny, U Albert, and Jenell. It was nice seeing Grandma and Dad too, the dogs had a blast running around her backyard. I’m so glad E Lee is getting to spend so much with her Great Grandma’s. We took a lot of pictures today, enjoy!

So many firsts!

There was supposed to be some giant 2 day sale at Toys R Us so when Molly woke us up early we decided just to get up and go. Our ad at home said there were great sales, but we definitely didn’t see that many. We did still find plenty to by. Mom got her lots of clothes; of course, she’s always spending money on her granddaughter. What comes around goes around I guess, my grandparents spoiled Geli and I, I think it’s just part of the job. Heck, even Christi is always getting E Lee stuff; she’ll probably end up being called Mimi just like Hailey calls her :)! Anyway, today was E Lee’s first trip in a shopping cart, she had a blast. We bought the Infantino cover that came with some attached toys and she was just fascinated for most of the trip. After that we were heading home and saw the Carter’s store. That was dangerous!! We got even more clothes. She’s pretty set now unless she gets too big for 12mo too early. We went home and cleaned up and slipped her into the pretty dress Pam had bought (and we almost forgot to have her wear before she was too big) and headed out to Black eyed Pea to eat with Grandma Goodyear, Pam, Cullen, and Autumn. I don’t think the dress was remembered, but she looked so cute anyway. Autumn is getting so big (well, tall really, she is long and lean) and so well behaved. She’s been so good every time we’ve seen her, and E Lee really enjoyed having another little one around. Cullen is such a good brother, he really watches out for Autumn. Then right as the first foods came out I got to feed E Lee in a high chair in a restaurant for the first time! She thought it was the coolest, but keep scooting forward and almost falling forward. It was a nice meal and a good time to see everyone. It was a busy day though and E Lee was exhausted. She finally fell asleep on Mom and they napped for a bit, what cuties! Anyway, tomorrow is more family. E Lee’s seeing all three Great Grandma’s in one weekend. We’re having lunch with Granny & U Albert, and then on the way out of town we’re seeing Dad and Grandma Castro. Whew . . .

Happy Halloween!!

Today was E Lee’s first Halloween. Luckily it was fairly mundane, we drove into Austin after E Lee ate lunch and went to eat at Chuy’s with Mom. It was a great meal and the waitress was wonderful. There weren’t many people yet since we were so early but there was another couple with a 4 month old baby girl named Brooklyn who was bigger than E Lee!! She was a cutie though, a chunk, but cute, and very little hair just like E Lee. I keep telling Paul I can’t even picture E Lee with a full head of hair, I’ve just gotten used to her only having fuzz :)! Anyway, it was just fun, E Lee enjoyed a biter biscuit when we were eating and we also got her a Chuy’s t-shirt. We planned on getting a picture in front of the fish, but it was too busy when we left, there wasn’t a place to stop near it, oh well. After that we headed back home and Geli came over while we went to the grocery store. We picked up ingredients for Chex Mix and peanut butter cookies, so we enjoyed making that tonight while Mom and Gel played with the “squishy” baby. Oh! While we were checking out at H-E-B I needed to get back to the credit card machine to finish up our order and the girl behind us stood in front of it. I said excuse me and she didn’t move so I asked her to move and she got all indignant and said there was no need to be so rude, this was a fun holiday and how dare I be ugly to her. I couldn’t believe it and simply finished answering all the questions on the machine to finish paying and overheard her complain to the person behind her how rude I was. I couldn’t believe it! Ugh, what an idiot, Paul said she must be a t-sip. Oh well. Anyway, this picture is of E Lee’s trip up she was playing with the sippy cup going “oooooo aaaaaa oooooo” as she rubbed the bottom of the cup against her gums. The poor thing is definitely teething, just no teeth. Everything is being rubbed against her gums so they must be bothering her. She is so funny though!

I want my mummy!

Thank goodness today is THURSDAY!! It was a horribly long day, and pretty horrible to begin with. Paul got his car back finally, so I got to drive myself to work, so that helped. I had to get as much done as possible since I took tomorrow off so I ended up working until 6:30pm, I hate almost 12 hour days. Oh well, it’s over now and I can’t wait to sleep in tomorrow. E Lee wore her “I want my Mummy” onesie today and looked oh so cute. And I know she was oh so happy to sleep in today, Paul didn’t end up dropping her off until 10am! Anyway, I am just exhausted from this week. I plan to really enjoy this weekend.

Baby Pumpkin!

Isn’t she just a cutie! Although in the picture of her sitting she doesn’t look very happy because she woke up even earlier than we planned to wake her (5:30am), so there went my last few minutes of precious sleep. She has not been very happy yesterday or today when we’ve had to carpool. E Lee’s had to wake up 2-3 hours earlier than normal and that does not make for a happy baby. I don’t know what we’re going to do next week when my van goes in the shop! Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

E Lee roots for her Steelers

October 26th, 2008

By Dorre |

Who sadly lost to the Giants (huh, Pittsburgh vs. NY? sound familiar?), but she sure looked cute rooting them on :)! Go Steelers!  Sadly you can also see all E Lee’s boo boos in the pictures too. The mosquitoes are just so bad; every time we take her outside she gets bit. I know she’s super sweet, but I wish the bugs would stop feasting on her. On her left had she was bit on her pinky and thumb and then she was bit smack dab on the forehead. The pinky got very swollen but her thumb doesn’t look too terrible, I just hope her sucking on it doesn’t make it worse. She’s super cute anyway.

Running errands . . .

October 26th, 2008

Today we got a little more done. We went to the store first thing in the morning and enjoyed a nice relaxing walk around Krogers. E Lee is a good grocery shopper, she just enjoys looking at everything and everyone, that and she had Sophie the giraffe to chew on :)! We got E Lee her first pumpkin, I don’t know what we’re going to carve it to be, but it should be a fun experience, I’m sure E Lee will have fun playing in the guts! I can’t wait for roasted pumpkin seeds. I made baked potato soup again last night and then we put chicken in the CrockPot so we’ve got quite a few lunches covered for next week. I had a really bad sinus headache this morning so I took a pill and it just knocked me out. I almost fell asleep in the living room so I went to take a nap and instead slept for hours. I only woke because E Lee was screaming (nothing wrong, just indignant Paul was heating her bottle instead of just magically making it ready); I don’t know why it affected me so much. Anyway, after that we (finally) put up the bat house. I hope it’s not too late and the bats will still inhabit it!

Slow Saturday . . .

So we’re a one car family right now. Paul turned in the rental car yesterday, but we couldn’t take his home because the insurance check was lost. Paul knew he saw it last on the sofa, but couldn’t find it when it was time to pick it up. I came home during lunch to help turn the house upside down, but no luck. The insurance company is going to stop & reissue for us but the new check won’t cut until Monday. Needless to say I wasn’t a happy camper, but it will force Paul to get up and get out of the house, and I’ll have leave work on time. Oh well, we can’t do anything about it now. So today E Lee and I were pretty lazy. She’s been awfully cranky at home, I think she misses not being at daycare enough this past week; we just don’t do enough new things with her :)! I did get to go through a few more of her outfits and I found the “I Love NY” onesie I got her on my business trip. She looks so skinny in it though, especially because it’s sleeveless, her arms are just little sticks! We still had a good day, she ate a lot! She’s going through about 2 containers of food a day. We’re trying to stick to her breakfast, lunch, and dinner for solids and bottles in between, but sometimes she still demands a bottle even after a lot of solid food. She’s not big into the sippy cups yet. All we’re giving her is water in them though, not much of an incentive for her. She did take my capri sun from me last night and she tried to suck on the tiny straw, but I don’t think she got anything. I squeezed a bit and she just got the biggest kick out of it. After that she just chewed on the edge. Anyway, I’m done, time for bed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMO!!

October 23rd, 2008

By Dorre |

Look at my two year old baby! It’s hard to believe he’s already that old, and it doesn’t help that he always looks like a puppy. We’ll take him to Petsmart for a belated birthday shopping trip this weekend; poor thing didn’t get much special time today, unless you count E Lee “petting” him. Right now he’s stretched out in the typical corgi lay with a hoof to chew on and soon we’ll hit the hay and he’ll claim the bottom half of our bed like normal. Happy Birthday Gizmo!

E Lee’s first school picture!

October 23rd, 2008

Well, E Lee got all dressed up today (kind of) for her picture day. She wore a cute little pink dress I had gotten her from Old Navy. Paul put a bow in her hair but we don’t know if it made it all the way to the pictures. Today went by fairly fast at work, and I actually left (kind of) on time so I could make it home in plenty of time to go get the B on my bike. Let me tell you, after Sunday, the two miles seems like nothing! Even with the trailer! It was surprisingly easier than I expected and E Lee did really well. I need to find a better way to sit her up; she kept sliding and bunching down. Anyway, it went well for my first time. The other cars were very careful; we even passed Sara on her way to pick up Jackson! After we got back I took E Lee to the side porch to swing and then when she had enough we took her inside to eat. She finished off the rest of her carrots (about 1/4 or 1/5 left) the rest of the beef (1/2 a jar) and then an ENTIRE bananas! But wait, there’s more!! Then she ate a 4oz bottle on top of it all. Needless to say she’s sleeping soundly now. The weather is finally turning to fall, it’s 59 and we are enjoying having all the windows open and the house nice and cool. Well, I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday; I am ready for a break!

E Lee’s first bike ride!

October 22nd, 2008

By Dorre |

Well, not much of a ride, by the time the B got up from her nap, ate her dinner, and was ready to go it was getting dark, so we just ran around the block. I think she had a shocked look on her face the entire time, she did not know what was going on! It was too dark for Paul to get many pictures, but here’s a few he got. After the ride we went and sat on the side porch and just enjoyed how cool it got.  E Lee hasn’t had a temperature all day so she gets to go back to daycare tomorrow.  School pictures were today but they’re going to do missed babies tomorrow, yay!  E Lee’s first “school” picture, I just hope they get a smile.
